Yellow Jacket Billets

Hi Saskatoon baseball fans. The Yellow Jackets are getting ready for another exciting summer of top notch baseball and plenty of entertainment in the stands.

BILLETING GUIDELINES

Firstly, the Host family will establish rules and regulations for their home that the billet player must follow. The Host family reserves the right to terminate their housing agreement at any time for just cause.

In the event of problems or concerns regarding the billets, Host families are advised to contact the Billet Coordinators and advise them of their concern(s).

What do I Need to Know?

This handbook contains important information on receiving ball players into your home. A billet must familiarize themselves with the guidelines that are presented in this handbook.
Guidelines
o Make the billets feel at home
o Inform them of your house rules, including telephone and computer usage, food, etc.
o Provide the billet with a bed or suitable sleeping accommodation, ensuring the billets privacy
o Try to ensure a quiet sleeping area
o Provide billet with three nutritional meals per day. Please note that you are not required to prepare the billets meals however you must ensure that there is food for the billet to prepare himself should he need to make his own meals.
o Laundry facilities must be provided – you are not required to do his laundry for him.
o Host families are not permitted to organize unofficial parties or outings without the permission of the team officials.
o When your billets are out it is courtesy for him to advise the host family of his whereabouts and expected time of return. A curfew could be implemented by the coaching staff which as a host family you are obligated to support.
o Do not lend your billets money.
o Long distance telephone calls are to be made with the billets calling cards unless Host family makes alternate arrangements.
Confirm any medical conditions, allergies, food restrictions, etc. with your billet. Discuss these matters upon their arrival at your home and address any concerns that are identified.
